Reviews say the 12-megapixel Nikon Coolpix S570 is a decent digital camera as long as you don't expect too much from it. For example, while the Nikon Coolpix S570 is capable of shooting at ISO 3200, one credible professional reviewer says you'll get "consistently good" shots only at ISO 400 and below, and that the camera is best for still subjects rather than moving targets (there is a blink detector for portraits). Owner reviews concur that image quality is poor in low light and that the shutter speed is slow. On the plus side, the LCD display screen is 2.7 inches -- larger than some -- yet the camera is pocket-sized and lightweight (4.2 ounces), despite a metal body, and it runs on a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. However, there's no viewfinder, and image stabilization is electronic, which is less effective than mechanical or optical.

Of professional review sites, CNET and Steves-Digicams.com take a long look at the Nikon Coolpix S570. We also found a few dozen owner reviews at both Staples.com and Amazon.com.
