The LG DLE2101W is an electric dryer with a generous 7.3-cubic-foot capacity, seven drying programs, five temperature levels and an electronic control panel. It includes a variety of useful features, such as an interior drum light, a reversible door (which allows the dryer to be installed on either side of the washer) and a moisture sensor. Experts highly recommend this feature, which saves energy and reduces wear and tear on clothing.
Owners find this dryer efficient, quiet and easy to use. They also appreciate its large capacity. We found only one significant complaint about the LG DLE2101W: The moisture sensor sometimes shuts the dryer off while clothes are still damp, requiring the user to add extra time to get the laundry fully dry. This dryer and its gas equivalent, the LG DLG2102W (*Est. $825), come with a one-year warranty. If you have more money to spend and want additional features, including steam cycles, you might prefer the LG SteamDryer DLEX2501 (*Est. $900). On the other hand, if your budget is tight, a good basic dryer is the Maytag Centennial MEDC400VW (Discontinued).
The LG DLE2101W has not been reviewed by professional sources such as ConsumerReports.org. However, it gets good reviews from users at AJMadison.com, HomeDepot.com and Sears.com. We also found useful information about the LG brand as a whole in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Laundry Appliances Study.
