Like its electric equivalent, the DV210AEW/XAA (*Est. $625) , the Samsung DV210AGW/XAA gas dryer has a 7.3-cubic-foot capacity and includes a few basic features: a moisture sensor, an interior drum light, a reversible door and a wrinkle-prevention setting (which tumbles clothes intermittently after drying is complete to keep wrinkles from setting in). The dryer has seven preset drying cycles and four temperature settings, and it's backed by a one-year warranty with the electronic control board covered for two years. Professional reviewers give this dryer excellent marks for drying performance, and very good scores for convenience and noise level. Owners like the dryer's large capacity, quiet operation and variety of features, but we found a couple of complaints. One user says the machine never gets hot enough to dry clothes thoroughly, and another claims that clothes come out badly tangled and wrinkled. If you have more to spend, you might consider the top-rated LG DLGX5102W (*Est. $1,100) , which offers more features but with a considerably higher price tag.
The Samsung DV210AGW/XAA, like other gas dryers, hasn't actually been tested at ConsumerReports.org, but it nonetheless receives a rating based on the performance of the electric version. The dryer is evaluated on its drying performance, capacity, convenience and noise level. User reviews for this machine are scarce, as they are for most gas dryers, but we found nearly 10 reviews at BestBuy.com and five on the manufacturer's website. The J.D. Power and Associates' 2011 Laundry Appliance Satisfaction Study provides information about the Samsung brand in general, but doesn't rate individual models.
