A very quiet and efficient coffe grinder, November 18, 2009
My husband likes freshly ground coffee every morning...at 5:00 when I'm still asleep. I hated his last one because I could hear it thru a closed door...upstairs. The Krups is very quiet and does a quick job.
Glad I Bought This Instead Of An Expensive Grinder!, November 17, 2009
I was very close to buying one of those expensive grinders but I chose to give this one a try first. This gives my coffee beans a perfect grind. The grinds look just like what you expect from one of those pricey professional grinders. No difference at all! At $20 this was a steal!
Great Spice Grinder, November 17, 2009

I bought this for grinding spices. The price is good, with free shipping, and the grinding compartment seems superior to my old Cuisinart. With my old grinder, the mostly plastic blade disintegrated after limited use. Nothing worse then ground plastic in your food. As with every grinder I've used, for coffee or spices, there's a static buildup and the grounds prefer to stay in the grounds compartment. Not really sure how to prevent that. A paint brush type of tool helps to remove all of the contents, but some do tend to remain. As such, I would not use a grinder for both spices and coffee. The blade seems to be mostly metal, which hopefully translates to an extended blade life.

It's designed for coffee, but I use it for other things., November 16, 2009
I got this product for grinding dried hot peppers from my garden. It does a great job in grinding the peppers down to almost a "sand" form, which I can use as an ingredient in my home made chili sauce, meat rubs, etc.
Average grinder... but functional, November 12, 2009

This is a powerful grinder. It has nice readings on the side that are helpful if you can figure out what they actually mean. You can definitely grind enough coffee for your average 10 pot coffee pot. However, I find using this a bit annoying. The lid fits firmly. If you are someone who gets the grounds out by turning the grinder upside down and then putting the lid on, realize that you better be sure you're done. The plastic lid is - ironically - too well made, meaning that there is no going back once you drip out the coffee. It is also very easy to get coffee on the sides of the the lid such that the lid doesn't fit smoothly as you re-attch the lid. It's functional. It works. In fact, we've had this one for over 4 years with no problem. It grinds really well. But is there anything special about this grinder? Eh...

The most credible review of the Krups Fast Touch says that it's capable of grinding finely enough for drip or French-press coffee, but not finely enough for espresso. Coffee grounds have a tendency to stick to the bowl.
