Great til it breaks!, November 20, 2009

Bought this coffeemaker based on having great review and thermal carafe. Have loved it up til yesterday when it completely stopped working. I pushed the on button and the light came on but the coffee did not brew, nor did it make any sound. Yes, there was water in the reservoir etc. Called the manufacturer and will send it in for repair. Honestly, this is only six months old. Would not recommend buying it.

disappointed, November 19, 2009
The coffeemaker was defective, BUT, even if it hadn't been, I was totally unimpressed with the quality. I'm not sure where they get off charging so much for this thing...it's actually not even as well made as a Proctor-Silex or other more popular, less expensive brand.

Looks sleek and makes a good cup of coffee, November 18, 2009

Overall this coffee maker is great. It looks nice and works just fine. For being so expensive, I was surprised how flimsy the lid plastic feels. I thought the coffee would come out even hotter, but it does keep the coffee nicely hot for a few hours. My lid doesn't easily close without me manually moving the water spigot over to the coffee filter side, but I don't mind so much. It pours slower than I anticipated, but who is in that much of a hurry? And I did buy #4 filters and they work fine. I just push them down and spread the bottom to conform to the shape of the plastic cone, and it is fine. No need to use scissors to trim the tops of the disposable filters. If you can get a good price for this machine (which is what I did), it is very worth it!

Very pleased!, November 12, 2009

This coffee maker has been without a doubt, the best purchase I have made in quite some time. It has a wonderful flavor. It brews quick and accurately. It is easy to clean, (invest in a handled whisk for the carafe). No worrying about a hot plate. Functional clock and timers. And I repeat terrific flavor. I am extremely pleased, I have been searching for years for a coffee maker like this. I have wasted a lot of money on makers that can't begin to compete.
