Best CRT computer monitor

AOC CT700G

Reports say that this 17-inch CRT monitor is the best of a quickly disappearing breed. Images are crisp, and colors are both accurate and bright. The CT700G is capable of displaying up to 1,280 pixels by 1,024 pixels, but… expandits flicker-free resolution of 1,024 pixels by 768 pixels will be easier on the eyes over long periods of time. Features are sparse, but include integrated speakers in the base. The three-year warranty is a plus. The beige cabinet is very retro. Still, experts say you're better off with an LCD monitor; you can get a basic 19-inch LCD monitor for the same price as this CRT. collapse

The 17-inch Dell E773c can't display quite as many pixels as the AOC CT700G (the rated maximum is 1,024 pixels by 768 pixels at 60 Hz). It also lacks speakers. However, it includes one extra that busy businesses will… expandappreciate -- Dell will ship you a replacement monitor on the next business day during the three-year warranty period. One caveat is that tech support is limited to users of Dell computer systems. The Dell E773c comes in a grey cabinet. Again, CRT monitors in general no longer hold an advantage over LCD monitors, and you can get a 19-inch LCD panel for just a bit more than this 17-inch Dell CRT. collapse
