Right now, most reviewers say the Logitech G9 is the very best gaming mouse available. Its highly precise laser sensor has a maximum resolution of 3,200 dpi, but that can be dialed down on the fly as needed to as little as 200 dpi. Ergonomics are first rate with adjustable weights and changeable grips, though some say that other mice might fit the hand a little better. The included SetPoint software is extremely powerful and helps users extract the last drop of performance from the G9. If you have a tighter budget, the Logitech G5 (*est. $45) has lower (2,000 dpi) resolution, and some don't like its textured feel, but reviews say it's a first-rate gaming mouse in its own right. For non-gamers, we found the best reviews for the Logitech MX Revolution (*est. $70).
We found plenty of reviews for the Logitech G9 gaming mouse. The most detailed and informative can be found at ExtremeTech.com, Virtual-Hideout.net and SharkyExtreme.com. The review at Everything USB is also excellent. However, while the reviewer's opinion of the G9 is made crystal clear, it's not rated or ranked against competing options. While we prefer some other reviews of the Logitech G9 because they do a better job of rating and ranking it against the competition, Eric Hanson's review is still well done and informative. While alternatives are not discussed in depth, the article leaves no doubt about the reviewer's opinion about the Logitech G9's place among its competitors.
