Reviewers say the Logitech Z-4 PC speakers are a great choice for people on a budget. It's a 2.1-channel system, meaning it has two satellites and a subwoofer. You can crank up the volume without losing clarity or getting distortion. At 40 watts RMS total output, it's best for small spaces like dorm rooms, bedrooms and home offices. Sound quality is generally good, though the lowest lows and the highest highs sound better on some more pricey systems, such as the Logitech Z-2300 (*Est. $110).

We found the most complete review for the Logitech Z-4 PC speaker system at DigitalTrends.com, though Techgage.com gives some useful information. A healthy number of owners weigh in on the Z-4 at both Amazon.com and Newegg.com.

Our Sources

1. DigitalTrends.com

The Logitech Z-4 gets an Editors' Choice award for clear sound, an attractive design and no distortion at high volumes. That said, the highest highs can occasionally sound tinny while deep bass could use more punch. Still, according to reviewer Brandon King, "The Logitech Z-4 should be at the top of your list of <$100 speaker systems if you're in the market for a good 2.1 setup."

2. Techgage.com

In this entirely positive review, Jen McPherson gives the Logitech Z-4 computer speakers an Editor's Choice award for "perfect audio through and through" across music types and even at high volumes. She likes the sleek design of the satellites, which look like stoplights.

3. NewEgg.com

Most of the more than 250 user-written reviews here give the Logitech Z-4 PC speakers the highest rating possible. These owners say that they love the clear sound, bass response and volume levels, considering the price. Some express concern, however, that young children could damage the uncovered speaker cones.

4. Amazon.com

More than 90 owners posting at Amazon.com give the Logitech Z-4 a strong 4.5-star average rating. A surprising number compare it with the Logitech Z-2300, and although they say those more expensive Logitech speakers can pump out higher volumes, the value of the Z-4 is tough to beat.
