I bought this item as a Christmas Present for my husband so it's still in the original box and will be for another 5 weeks. He likes to cook and is really good so I knew he'd like a good cookware set. Since I can't afford a really good set for hundreds of dollars, this seemed like it would probably work. I didn't want to give it stars yet since I really don't know whether it's any good or not.
This is the worst set by far!, November 6, 2009

So after reading the reviews and all the rave on how great this set is, i decided to buy one. Upon receiving it, i was amazed at how shiny it was. The looks was definitely an A+, but that soon turn sour. After using it 1 time, my pots stained. So much for the "stainless" steel. The set burns very very easily. And once it burns, the stain is forever. I've tried just about everything and nothing works. The pot also gets just as hot on the side as it does on the bottom. I found out when i was boiling water and accidentally moved the pot. The water twirled around lightly in the pot but as it hit the rim of the side, it was sizzling and spat out hot water. Oh and the handle, you can forget about it. There is no way any living being can hold the handle with bare hands when its in used. I need my oven mit along with another towel just so that i dont get burned. In 1 experiment, i dripped some water on the handle when i had it on the burner and it sizzled. this product is a HUGE dissappointment negative 5 stars if i could.

I like the Cuisinart pots and pans, October 13, 2009

I like Cuisinart pots and pans in general. I have a number of pieces that I have bought individually and use them all the time. When my daughter got her own apartment and needed pots and pans I bought her this set. It is a terrific deal. The only problem is that I don't think that the pots and pans in this set are as good or heavy as the ones I have purchased previously on an individual basis. I guess they had to do something to make this set so affordable. For a beginner or for someone who is not a serious cook, this is a really good, complete set, but if you are a serious cook you might want to go with something a little better.

Great set for a ceramic cook top!, October 7, 2009

We moved into a house with a ceramic cook top and learned that our set of aluminum pans would scratch it and ruin it. So we were on the hunt for a good stainless set. After a lot of research, we decided to try these. We looked at the more expensive brands, and found that these are a great buy - unless you're one of those who need to have the most expensive stuff. They work great, clean up is a snap. Glad we got them & would buy them again! Happy cooking! : )

Great buy, great product, October 7, 2009
I love everything about this set, except for one complaint: When you lift a lid to stir, it drips condensation because of the design of the lid...curved up instead of down.
Heat distribution is outstanding and I think the pots and pans are a great value.

In this short but insightful review, About.com housewares guide Mariette Mifflin reports on her own informal testing of the Cuisinart Chef's Classic cookware set. She is one of the few reviewers who note the helpful self-draining lids. (Note: ConsumerSearch is owned by About.com, but the two don't share an editorial affiliation.)
