The Ridgid R92009 performs well in a few expert tests of light-duty cordless drills -- but not quite as well as the top-rated Milwaukee 2410-22 (*Est. $150). Both drills come with two Li-ion batteries that charge in just 30 minutes (so you'll have a spare to work with while the other charges), as well as battery fuel indicators that indicate when battery power is running low and on-board LED task lights. But the Milwaukee proves easier to handle -- the Ridgid strikes one expert tester as top-heavy. We also found fewer owner reviews for the Ridgid, so it's harder to judge its real-life performance.
ConsumerReports.org and Journal of Light Construction both include the Ridgid R92009 in their painstaking cordless drill comparison tests. Popular Mechanics also comparison-tests this drill. HomeDepot.com posts the most owner reviews for this model.

3. PopularMechanics.com
The Ridgid R92009 rates just behind the top picks in this cordless-drill shootout, but it's not clear why. Roy Berendsohn praises its fast, powerful drilling and driving, grippy handle and a battery that's "the best of the bunch." He doesn't note any cons, but he gives the Ridgid a 4.5-star rating rather than a perfect 5 stars.

4. HomeDepot.com
With about 15 owner ratings posted, the Ridgid R92009 averages 3.8 out of 5 stars. Although most reviewers like the drill, one reports faulty batteries, and another complains of bad warranty service.
