The Uniden CEZAi2998 DECT digital phone/answerer has a multitude of helpful features, not the least of which is that it is designed for those with hearing and vision problems. The large, brightly lit buttons and display make the unit easy to read and the LEDs flash to indicate incoming calls. Calls can be amplified up to 20 decibels and the phone is hearing-aid compatible. The corded handset (one cordless handset is included) allows this phone to be used during power outages, and you won't lose saved numbers or other information. The CEZAi2998 can support up to six handsets, but at an approximate cost of $50, that can get expensive. This phone is popular with users, who are pleased with its ease of use, though some say the initial set-up is complicated.

Recent testing results are available by subscription only on ConsumerReports.org, where 46 cordless phones, with and without answering machines, were recently tested and compared. User reviews from various sources are mostly positive for the Uniden CEZAi2998.
