The Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron is a pricey option, but it has the expert recommendations to back it up. For the most part, owners agree that it's very effective at curling hair. However, some owners don't think it lives up to the hype or the price tag. It doesn't seem to work as well for especially fine or thick hair, though that isn't always the case. Sedu boasts a two-year "no questions asked" warranty, so it may be worth giving the Clipless Curling Wand a shot, if others haven't worked.
Impressive price, not results. It gets glowing reviews from some professionals and owners, and other reviewers are disappointed that the Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron isn't as impressive as its price. Plenty of users are very happy with it, saying it masters even their difficult-to-style wavy or curly hair (we found that many other clipless wands couldn't alter the curls in naturally curly hair). However, it doesn't fare as well with hair that is straight and either very fine or very thick. The Sedu Revolution also only heats up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit as opposed to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (like most curling irons) and has only three temperature settings.
Hair doesn't slide down straight barrel. The Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron is one of the only clipless wands we found with a straight barrel. It may be a bit easier for those with fine or especially slippery hair to use, as several owners say hair slides off tapered barrels too easily. However, there seems to be an especially high number of owners who say they've burned themselves many times with the Sedu Revolution; it's possible that this is due to the iron's length and lack of a cool-touch tip. In its favor, though, the Sedu Revolution is quite lightweight, especially given its size. Also, we didn't see any complaints about the controls of this iron, which is unusual.
Burns are common, but safety features might make up for that. We found that burns from this iron are very common -- some users returned the iron because they burned themselves so frequently. This seems to subside once users get used to the iron. Despite burns, users do like the included heat-resistant glove, and fewer users share complaints about it than with gloves included with other clipless irons. This iron also has a "kickstand" to rest on, which seems less common among wand irons. It also has a 30-minute auto-shutoff.

1. Folica.com
Review Credibility: Very Good Editors at Folica.com curate a list of the top 10 curling irons based on star ratings and editors' opinions. The downside to Folica.com's reviews is that curling irons of different sizes from the same line are listed together, making it difficult to tell if there are pluses and minuses to a particular size. For all sizes, there are more than 500 reviews, for an overall rating of about 4.5 stars. Several reviewers say this is the only iron they've found that can tame their hair, yet others find it simply doesn't work for them. One reviewer does point out this iron lacks a cool-touch tip, making it easy to burn wrists or arms while styling. Another says it is lightweight, making styling easier. It seems that users with very fine or very coarse hair have the least success.

3. Amazon.com
Review Credibility: Good While some curling iron models garner nearly 1,000 reviews on Amazon.com, the Sedu Revolution is reviewed fewer than 30 times, and the reviews are for all sizes, not just the 25 mm size. However, it gets an overall rating of more than 4.7 out of 5 stars. Most owners are very pleased with it, saying it creates very natural-looking curls. One says that it couldn't conquer her tough-to-curl hair, but for most reviewers, the only complaint is that it does take some time to get used to.
