The Energy Star-rated Frigidaire FDF70S1 can remove up to 70 pints per day, and you can connect a hose to a floor drain so you're not constantly emptying the collection cup (the collection cup itself can hold up to 17 pints of water). While less powerful humidifiers reduce the humidity only to 50 percent, the Frigidaire FDF70S1 can get it down to 35 percent, and you can adjust the humidity level up to 85 percent. Some reviews say the Frigidaire FDF70S1 is noisy, so upstairs you may want the quieter Soleus CFM-40E dehumidifier (*Est. $195).
