Reviewers praise the Crystal Body Deodorant stick for being 100 percent natural and doing a surprisingly good job of preventing odor. It does not, however, prevent perspiration, but experts point out that only synthetic ingredients can block sweat. Users say that the deodorant is similar to a rock in texture and takes some getting used to. It is hard and has to be moistened prior to application but reviewers love that it is completely scent-free and doesn't cause irritation. Users also claim that one stick can last up to a year, making it a real bargain. If you prefer wetness protection, experts say you will need an antiperspirant, such as Mitchum Power Gel Antiperspirant (*Est. $5 for 3.4 oz.), which also gets strong reviews. Crystal Body Deodorant is also available in roll-on, spray and rock formulas.
We found Slate.com's review of Crystal Body Deodorant to be the most reliable, even though it is dated. The magazine's testing methods are thoroughly described, and the author goes to great lengths to compare the deodorant to several other products. Both Better Nutrition and Chatelaine magazines also test the deodorant but their methods are not as clear. TheGreenGuide.com recommends natural products, including Crystal Body Deodorant, based on their ingredient list but it isn't clear whether any testing for efficacy is performed. User reviews at MakeupAlley.com are also useful.
Eliza Truitt says that while Crystal Body Deodorant doesn't stop sweat (no natural deodorant does), it does an excellent job of preventing odor through intense physical activity and stressful situations.

3. Chatelaine Magazine
Editors of Chatelaine, a Canadian women's magazine, say that the Crystal Body Deodorant Rock, which is made of the same ingredients as the stick, works surprisingly well even if it is a bit "finicky." Both the rock and the stick have to be moistened before applying.
