Although Mitchum Power Gel Antiperspirant (formerly known as Mitchum Clear Gel -- with the same formula) isn't recommended as frequently as Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant/Deodorant (*Est. $8 for 1.6 oz.), it uses the same active ingredient (aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly) and costs less. Mitchum is also available in both men's and women's formulas, though experts say there isn't much difference between the two versions. Reviewers like Mitchum's clear formula, which doesn't leave the telltale white residue so common with solid deodorants. Though some complain that it takes awhile to dry, many insist that it's a small sacrifice to pay for the results. Several users say Mitchum Power Gel keeps them dry for days at a time. If you need something stronger, experts suggest using a prescription antiperspirant such as Drysol (*Est. $15 for 35 ml.). Mitchum Power Gel Antiperspirant is available in five scents plus unscented as well as a sensitive-skin version.
Although it is a bit dated, we found the comparison review at Slate.com to be the most thorough assessment of Mitchum Power Gel. Both Men's Health and Men's Fitness magazines recommend the antiperspirant, though neither publication performs any testing. We didn't find many user reviews for Mitchum, but those posted at MakeupAlley.com are consistent with other reviews.

Although her test is not scientific by any means, Eliza Truitt is thorough in her comparison of eight antiperspirants and deodorants, including Lady Mitchum Clear Gel. The antiperspirant performed nearly as well as the top-rated Secret Platinum Protection, which has now been replaced with Secret Flawless.
