The only diaper this grandma will ever buy, November 13, 2009

I love surprising my daughter and son in law by sending them a huge box of Pamper Cruisers every so often. I know it is something they can use and I love writing a gift note to Julia, my 18 month old grand daughter. In just a few clicks on my computer the order is completed. The box arrives in just a few short days. They will not use any other diaper though they have tried several in a pinch. They started with the Pamper Swaddlers and are now using the Pamper Cruiser 4.

Just a diaper, November 9, 2009

I recently reviewed Pampers Baby Dry and gave it a so/so review. A representative of Pampers suggested that I try the Cruisers instead. I was happy to try them because as I stated in my Baby Dry review, I love Pamper's bright colors and I'm wild about the baby powder smell. Truly though, the only big difference I can find between Cruisers and Baby Dry is that the Cruisers run a little bigger. Both are good enough diapers for normal daytime use but both leak when my son wears them overnight. I'm not sure why diapers these days have no leak guarding at the waist bands. They are super thin at the waist and most every morning to my aggravation my baby wakes up soaked up his back or sides. That leaves his sheets wet and his wearable blanket wet, both of which must then be washed because I don't have many spares. I'm obviously going to have to go with overnight diapers which is disappointing and just one more thing that I have to find a place for.

Pampers Cruisers - Quality problem, October 30, 2009

I have been using Pampers for my baby since he was born, and have already used a few boxes of Pampers Cruisers size 5 so far, and been happy with the quality until the last order in September, 09 from Amazon. The quality is going down dramatically. It's very thin and light. The edge is pretty loose and leaky. Seems P&G is trying to cut cost and starting to use cheap materials. Yet the price is going up! This is disgusting. I don't know exactly what's going on with P&G, but this is the best way to lose customer brand loyalty. Now I have this whole box of low quality Cruisers diapers to bear with. I am really afraid to buy it again. I feel I am cheated. From Amazon.com, the product looks the same, but I am getting something that's not Pampers Cruisers anymore. I think Amazon.com should protect its customers from this kind of rip-off, and stop carrying this kind of cheapo Cruisers product or ask P&G to refund its victim customers.

Great absorbency, and baby stays try all night (she usually sleeps more than 10 hours per night without changing).
New Cruiser Product isn't that good.., October 23, 2009

I've used pampers exclusively since we left the hospital. My daughter is 12 months old now & we're using Cruisers size 3, the old version with "Go Baby Grips" on the package is far superior to the "Comfort Flex". They removed the mesh liner (which we liked as it kept the skin off the wetness) and absorbency has gone down the tubes. I drive around now & look for places that sell the old version (and buy those instead). Sad I have to stockpile diapers from the old production line.

This book's recommendations for best diaper brands are a bit vague, but the major brands are discussed. The Fields admit that "writing about disposable diapers is a bit like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall" because of the constant changes and improvements in diaper design.

Pampers placed second with 26 percent of votes, however, only the brand is rated, not specific diapers.
