Many parents posting to user-review sites are fans of Seventh Generation diapers, which are chlorine-free (chlorine bleaching, a technique used in most mainstream diapers, produces the pollutant dioxin). Seventh Generation diapers also have no fragrance or latex, and are hypoallergenic. Enthusiasts of this brand say these are the best diapers ever. Other users, however, say these Seventh Generation diapers don't have enough absorbency in the larger sizes, that the tape closures are too sticky. In addition, some reviewers dislike the diapers' brown color.

Unfortunately, Seventh Generation diapers aren't included in the latest diaper roundup by ConsumerReports.org. Seventh Generation eco-friendly diapers are reviewed in the book "Baby Bargains," and are also mentioned in a poll on favorite diaper brands posted in a blog at About.com. Seventh Generation diapers are also the subject of a substantial amount of parent reviews on Amazon.com.

1. Baby Bargains

Thought the recommendations for the best diapers in this popular book are a bit vague, the authors describe Seventh Generation's eco-friendly diapers, noting that they may be a bit too expensive.

2. About.com

Heather Corley, About.com's guide to baby products, asks readers to vote on their favorite diaper brands. Some of the 4,000-plus respondents choose Seventh Generation, but not enough to propel these diapers to the top of the rankings. 3. Amazon.com

Seventh Generation chlorine-free diapers are a particular favorite of parents posting to this retail site. More than 600 reviews give Seventh Generation diapers high ratings (the smaller-sized diapers, in particular, earn glowing reviews). Some users, however, complain that the larger sizes are leaky.
