Full-featured SD camcorder
- Good video in both bright and dim light
- 80 GB hard drive
- Easy to use
- Long, steady optical zoom
- As expensive as some high-definition camcorders
- Not really "one touch" upload to YouTube
If you're in the market for a full-size, standard-definition digital camcorder, the JVC Everio GZ-MG670 gets the highest praise from critics. Reviews say it offers fewer features than previous JVC models. However, compared to mini camcorders like the Pure Digital Flip Mino (*Est. $130), the GZ-MG670 is laden with features, including a full-size LCD screen and long-range optical zoom. The GZ-MG670 also performs better than mini models in tests, recording nice sound and a non-jittery picture. Its 80 GB hard drive can hold 14 hours of best-quality video -- 720 by 480 resolution -- with the ability to "upconvert" its footage via an HDMI cable to look better on your HDTV, although experts say it still doesn't look nearly as good as real HD footage. Experts and users both say the GZ-MG670 is easy to use, but its advertised "one-touch" upload to YouTube actually takes a bit more effort than that.
Few sources have reviewed the JVC Everio GZ-MG670, but it has undergone rigorous testing at CamcorderInfo.com. Another expert source, DigitalTrends.com, comes to similar conclusions about the GZ-MG670. Owners who post reviews at Amazon.com describe their real-world experiences with this model.

Reviewer David Elrich calls the JVC Everio GZ-MG670 "a decent little camcorder." Although it can't approach high-definition quality, Elrich prefers the JVC over zero-feature pocket camcorders.
