Wonderful deal!, November 15, 2009
We already had one of these cameras so we already knew it was a great product. This one we bought as a gift and bought it at a better price with free shipping... how can we go wrong?
Most useful camcorder ever!, November 11, 2009

The "flip" is the absolutely perfect device. You really can carry it around in your pocket. I finally read the directions and they make MacIntosh manuals look like a MS Vista Installation Manual. It's nice to have a portable camcorder where ever you go. You never know when you'll need it. It takes up to 60 minutes of video but I've never run out when I needed it because it's easy to dump the video onto your computer and clean off the old video. The best features is the ease of use. Push the red button and it records. Push again and it stops. The "FLIP" refers to a button on the side that pops out a USB plug when you push on it. You then plug the whole camcorder into a USB port and software autoamtically starts that lets you e-mail a single segment or multiple segments to someone with the built in e-mail client (that stores your address book too). They get a link to a page where they can view their video. My only gripe is that the page is mostly an ad for the Flip with a small video for your viewer to play their video. Minor. Movie making software is simple but I don't use that feature much. It's nice to be able to take stills out of your video's and paste them into other work. I saw this FLIP at COSTCO for $149. I know the price was cheaper on AMAZON because likely they are coming out with new models but this model fits my needs. The best part about buying through the Amazon deal is that it comes with an external charger. Normally you have to pop up the flip USB and plug it into your computer to charge the Flip. The extra that comes with the Amazon deal is a USB port with an AC power plug that lets you charge the Flip at a wall socket. I'll bet I can use the samer charger to charge my ipod and other devices that normally need to be charged via the computer's USB port. Great toy, and great tool. I use it in professional settings all the time. Good as a back up USB for files too in a pinch.

Flip Mino Camcorder, November 11, 2009

I opened the package, read the instructions, and used the enclosed AC adapter to charge the camcorder. The green light on the adapter shower green (it was working) and the LED blinking light on the USB arm was blinking indicating it was charging. The instructions indicated the charge should take 2 hours and it was fully charged when the blinking led stopped. 24 Hours later the LED was still blinking indicating it was still charging. I removed the Flip from the charger and checked the battery indicator and it had not charged at all. I returned the unit to Amazon for a refund.

poor service from Amazon and dealer, November 11, 2009
I was sent the flip without operating instructions and was required to send a stamped self-address envelope to get them from manufacturer. Amazon never responded to my requests. I am yet to use it.
Pretty good, November 11, 2009
Pretty good. I think I've seen better video quality taken with an iphone but for what it does its quality. I got a used one for $80...I'd be weary of spending anymore money than that. I do stand up comedy so I use it primarily to video tape my sets. It works great for that since its very portable.
