There are lots of places to read reviews of the Canon PowerShot A470 digital camera, the most detailed of which can be found at camera enthusiast websites, including The Imaging Resource and Steve's Digicams. For those who want competent but easier-to-digest opinions, the review at CNet.com is a must-read. Consumer Reports also weighs in on this digital camera, but the discussion is very limited and you'll need to be a subscriber to read their ratings. User reviews are limited, but there are enough at Amazon.com to see that most owners are happy with the camera.

Reviews say that if you are looking for a basic, point-and-shoot camera at a bargain price, the 7.1-megapixel Canon PowerShot A470 digital camera is a good choice -- it's just that the 8-megapixel Canon PowerShot A590 IS (*est. $110) is an even better choice that only costs $15 more. Still, critics say the 3.4x zoom Canon A470 digital camera has a great assortment of automatic and scene modes to handle most occasions, and reports say they do an excellent job. Despite the low price, face detection and automatic red-eye correction are included. Though the camera is easy to hold and use, some reviewers say it's bulky. For a bit more money, the Canon PowerShot A590 IS (*est. $110) offers all of the features of the A470, and throws in higher resolution, a slightly longer zoom (4x vs. 3.4x) and a raft of useful features such as optical image stabilization and full manual controls.
