Great Camera!, November 18, 2009
I really like the Canon PowerShot D10. It works great! I wish the battery life could be a little better, but I guess I will just have to carry extra batteries with me. I plan on taking it with me to Burning Man in 2010!
It might be water proof... but don't use it for anything else., November 13, 2009

So this may or may be a good underwater camera... if that is all you are going to use it for then disregard this review. I didn't take enough underwater pictures to give it a fair shake at that. I did use it for a weekend and it fails badly as a general point and shoot camera. The picture quality was awful and not at all up to what I expect from a cannon (my previous camera was a powershot A620, and I ended up buying a PowerShot SX20 after returning this). I really like cannon products and maybe this is a good rough and tumble camera, but you will have to take time to line up every shot and make sure your lighting is great... otherwise... the picture wont be worth the effort.

Fantastic Camera, November 11, 2009

Bought camera for trip to Jamaica. OMG what a pleasent surprise. Pictures are crisp, color is vivid, can't say enough good things. It's great to just rinse off the sand or salt water. Even dropped it once. Underwater pictures are great, would compare my pictures with a high end camera anytime. Video both underwater and topside are super. While on trip people all around were asking what kind of camera I had. I believe there are at least 8-10 new D10 owners now. The camera is simple to operate, even my wife who is a point and shoot type person used it with ease. If you want a camera you can take to the beach, pool or any adverse condition this camera is great. I would recommend buying a 16GB chip which would give about 2hrs+video and more pictures than you can take in a day.

Love The Canon Powershot D10, November 11, 2009
This, so far, is one of my favorite cameras. I bought it for vacation and it took great pics both inside and outside, in light and in dark. I love the camera. It's also easy to use and its almost impossible to take a bad picture with it.
A real "Bring it everywhere" camera, November 9, 2009
With this camera, I am not afraid of getting wet, or being mishandled by my son. I bring it everywhere I go to capture some pictures that I had never done before:

Water slides, Swimming pool, Snorkelling, Water theme parks....

GREAT

1. DPReview.com

In this underwater camera test group, the Canon PowerShot D10 shares the winner's circle with the Panasonic DMC-TS1 for overall performance, although the D10 rates higher for underwater handling. It also has the fastest response times, but the D10 is definitely not the most compact camera on the block.

2. TrustedReviews.com

In terms of weather-proof specifications, the Canon PowerShot D10 "comfortably" beats the Olympus Stylus Tough-8000 and the Pentax Optio W60. And when put to the test, the D10 pulls ahead with best overall image quality and ergonomics. The D10 is "the easiest to handle underwater thanks to its chunky shape and large controls," says Cliff Smith.

3. StevesDigicams.com

The editors at Steves-Digicams.com are impressed by the new Canon PowerShot D10. The camera wins points for its easy menu navigation, "blazing fast performance" and "ability to capture pleasing images no matter what the conditions." While editors note the D10 is a bit pricier than other compact digital cameras, they add that the D10 is competitively priced among waterproof compacts.

"A durable beach buddy" is one of the ways Michael Patrick Brady describes the rugged Canon PowerShot D10. Although he considers the egg-shaped design "a little unusual," his tests show that form serves function, particularly in terms of handling and button design.

5. The New York Times

The New York Times personal-tech guru Rik Fairlie conducts a pool test on five waterproof point-and-shoot models to see which ones sink or swim. Even though the PowerShot D10 is Canon's "first dip into waterproof territory," the novice swimmer easily laps the competition -- including the Pentax Optio W60 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1.

6. Amazon.com

More than 70 owners comment on the Canon PowerShot D10. The majority agree that it's easy to use and takes great photos. It's also durable, having survived documented bumps and bruises. While several users complain about poor mic quality, most of the setbacks center around what the D10 lacks in the feature department -- RAW format support, GPS and a lens cap.
