Lens error- good while it lasted, November 6, 2009
Like so many other buyers of this camera I got a lens error which rendered the camera useless. The camera was never dropped or bumped and was rarely used. I have owned Nikons all my life but the quality of this isn't up to their standards.
Waste of money, October 16, 2009

This camera was a nice size and a cute color and the battery lasts for a really long time. That is about where the positive attributes end. I had my heart set on another camera, but my fiance, a photographer, convinced me to go with Nikon because they put out very good quality products. I wasn't expecting D80 quality by any stretch of the imagination, but I would have expected my pictures to look decent. I read the manual cover to cover and played with the settings and still couldn't get my pictures to turn out not grainy and blurry. In the end, our dog went on a tear and used the camera as a chew toy, and that was probably for the best. I have since replaced it with a Polaroid t1234 (the camera that I had my heart set on in the beginning). It was much cheaper, has higher megapixels, is easier to use, and takes much better pictures.

Service Problem with COOLPIX, September 21, 2009

Just a word of caution for anyone considering buying the Coolpix digital camera. In my experience the camera will sometimes turn on in my pocket. Apparently, the On/Off switch is very sensitive and not well protected. Recently when it turned on, the lens opened up and a small amount of foreign matter got on the lens mechanism. My camera became inoperable with a "Lens Error" message displayed. My dealer said this problem happens frequently with the Coolpix. So my advice is be very careful with the lens mechanism or be prepared to have the camera serviced when this kind situation occurs.

Nikon coolpic, September 18, 2009

The seller sent the item in a bag. The camera only no charger or book with information on the camera. It does not work and am having a hard time trying to find the power adapter for the item to charge it to see if it really works. Was a gift for my daughters 10th birthday. Do not recommended purchasing anything from this seller. Not an honest person. Stayed that the camera was new and in great condition. I spent almost $100 dollars for it. ***DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SELLER***

Expensive Disposable Camera, September 18, 2009

I was given this camera last Christmas. At first I was very pleased with because it's small and cute and purple. However, by May it had stopped working, got the LENS ERROR message that seems to happen to these cameras. When I turned the cameral on, the lens would come out and try to focus, then go back and close and display "lens error". Well I got it fixed and it came back and worked again...for about a month. Then the same thing happened and my only option is to get it repaired and risk this happening again, or get a new camera. So basically, this camera lasts for a few months and then is garbage. At store where it was purchased the customer service clerk told me "I have seen a lot of these come through with this problem". Bummer. I am getting a Sony I think.

2. DigitalCameraReview.com

The reviews at DigitalCameraReviews.com are not quite as detailed as those at Steve's Digicams, but they're still loaded with lots of information and testing detail. Though the results of testing are critically discussed, the S210 is not compared to other cameras. Editors conclude that the Nikon S210 is built well and takes mainly good photos.

3. CNET

The reviews at CNet.com are not nearly as detailed as those at other sites, but they still manage to do a good job covering the most critical things shooters should look for when selecting a camera. Lori Grunin echoes the comments of others when it comes to the style and affordability of the Nikon Coolpix S210 -- but is not as forgiving of the image quality.
