If you want to buy a digital photo frame for relatives or friends and plan to send photos to the frame, you need to be mindful of the recipient's level of technical know-how. Wireless frames can be complicated to set up. No reviewer says Ceiva frames are the best overall, but they do have one big trick -- you can plug them into a regular phone line and send photos to the frame with no need for a wireless network or even a computer. The downside it that a subscription to Ceiva's PicturePlan service (*Est. $100 per year) is required.
Reviews for Ceiva frames are plentiful. CNET, Laptop Magazine and two newspapers offer thorough evaluations. ConsumerReports.org covers two Ceiva frames, and we found ratings at Amazon.com for a few models.
