We found useful reviews and ratings of the Philips 5FF2CMI 5.6-inch digital frame at Amazon.com, written by owners based on their own experiences. Some of these reviews are quite detailed and compare the frame with other models. Articles about Philips digital photo frames at Engadget and LetsGoDigital are based on features rather than testing.

When it was current, owners recommended the 5.6-inch Philips 5FF2CMI as a good budget digital photo frame. It has only basic display features -- no audio, video or wireless connection -- but you can load photos from a memory card. Alternatively, you can display photos directly from a connected computer's hard drive. The 680x480 resolution is fine on such a small screen, and the 4:3 aspect ratio displays photos with a minimum of distortion. Photos are hard to see from a distance, but reviews say this frame is fine for a desk. Several owners, though, report serious bugs and poor technical support. Among currently available digital frames, reviewers recommend the Westinghouse DPF-0802 (*est. $130).
