The 512 MB memory is not expandable and is small compared to some recorders, but that's still enough to hold more than 138 hours at the recorder's lowest-quality setting. We've seen some complaints that audio quality could be better, but at the same time, experts and owners agree that you'd be hard-pressed to find a better digital voice recorder at near the same price. If you have a bit more to spend, the Olympus WS-321M (*est. $90) boasts a 1 GB memory for up to 277 hours of recording time and some additional features, such as a built-in MP3 player.
