Olympus WS-210S

The Olympus WS-210s Digital Voice Recorder is exactly what I needed. Never having owned one before I bought it just on a thought that I might. I had been to hear several speakers and have missed not being… able to go back and listen to portions of their presentations, but I have used it several times now to record meetings, shopping lists, reading written scripts for business, etc. It is very good. The controls are easy to operate even for a ham fingered guy like me. The only slight problem I have is pulling the unit apart to get the USB end exposed. Like I say ham fingered. The button to release is indented slightly so I have to get the tip of my finger on it and pull it apart. Just feels like I am going to break it. Over all a great machine. 17 hours recording time is enough since you can download what you've recorded to the computer without any additional software.

I bought this a few months ago on Amazon just to have something in my purse so I could remind myself of things, from what to buy to where I parked. It is so easy to use that after a couple times I knew what… to press and start talking without looking at it. The single AAA battery lasts quite awhile, and I've yet to use up the storage. I love that I can plug it into a USB port and download a Windows media file if I want to save it, as I did for a class. (Don't expect world class recording in a classroom situation when the recorder is stationary!) My boss has borrowed it a couple times to record important calls so that he can call up important thoughts and reiterate them to other associates. I told him he should get his own for such a reasonable price!
