In terms of price and features, the Kenmore 13892 falls neatly between budget and mid-range dishwashers. It's Energy Star-compliant and includes a sensor wash cycle, self-cleaning filter, built-in food disposal, fold-down tines and sanitary rinse cycle. However, the inner tub is plastic and there's no gentle cycle. Drying is heated only. Owners say this dishwasher does a good job getting dishes clean and is very quiet, especially considering its price. However, we did read a few reports of early breakdowns. If you're looking to spend even less, the Whirlpool DU1055XTVQ (*Est. $400) is a bit louder and skips the sensor wash and food disposal feature, but gets dishes just as clean.
