Bottom line

The Combi Twin Sport gets raves for its lightweight maneuverability and ease of folding. Parents and experts say it's great for everyday strolls over fairly smooth surfaces. However, it is skimpy on storage, and the small canopies are not adjustable and do not provide much sun protection. Despite the drawbacks, most reviewers feel it is a great, moderately priced side-by-side.

Safety

Some security issues. The Combi Twin Sport has a five-point harness system and comes with an infant boot that covers the bottom of the stroller to make it more like a bassinet. There's also a removable front guard rail for extra security, though many parents note that toddlers can quickly learn how to dismantle it. The majority of reviewers say that the small canopy offers limited sun protection. There are no reports of tipping and no comments about the effectiveness of the brakes and locks. Each back wheel has a foot brake that must be activated separately, and each of the front swivel wheels can be locked into place. One expert, independent source gives it only fair marks for safety due to damage sustained in an impact damage test.

Ease of use

Handles beautifully. Most reviewers agree that the lightweight Combi Twin Sport steers like a dream, turns on a dime and fits through most doors. The small but sturdy wheels glide over smooth surfaces, but can also handle bumpy sidewalks and even a quick roll over grass or gravel -- though the ride will be rougher, since this is not an all-terrain stroller.

It folds (and unfolds) in just three seconds and stands when folded. Though it has a carrying strap, most reviewers prefer rolling it in the folded position and then hoisting it into their trunks. At 22.25 pounds, it's not too bad to lift.

Seat cushions are removable and washable.

Lifestyle features

Nice perks, but drawbacks too. Reviewers love that the Combi Twin Sport accommodates children from birth to 45 pounds comfortably and allows them to ride side by side in fully reclining seats. But some parents wished for a barrier between the seats to keep kids from annoying each other.

They also want to see better storage. Though the small pockets on the seatbacks can hold keys, wallets and cell phones, the under-seat basket is tiny and hard to reach. Some reviewers feel the footrests are sub par. They like that the stroller comes with cup holders (one for parents, three for kids) but point out that the adult cup is hard to access, and the kids' cup holders are too shallow for sippy cups and can only be used for snacks, which tend to spill out on bumps.

As for durability, many worry how the somewhat flimsy Combi Twin Sport will hold up over time, and one reports that her canopies have become crooked after just a few months of use. A few users have problems with the plastic crossbar between the stroller legs: One reviewer's stroller arrived damaged and was returned and another broke after less than 30 days.

The stroller is compatible with one Combi Shuttle 33 infant car seat, though some expert and parent reviewers say it is hard to attach.

Customer service

No complaints. The Combi Twin Sport carries a limited one-year warranty. There are no comments or complaints about Combi's customer service.

3. Amazon.com

Review Credibility: Very Good The Combi Twin Sport earns an overall rating of 3.9 stars out of 5 from about 20 reviewers who praise its lightweight maneuverability and quick and compact fold. But owners aren't as happy with the skimpy storage basket and canopies, which provide little sun protection, and say the children's cup holders cannot accommodate sippy cups. Though some feel it is a bit flimsy, the consensus is that the Combi Twin Sport is an affordable and lightweight side-by-side option.

6. Travels With Baby

Review Credibility: Good Family travel expert and blogger Shelly Rivoli picks the Combi Twin Sport as a good option for families traveling with twins or an infant and older sibling, though she points out that it only accommodates one Combi Shuttle 33 car seat, so is not designed to be a twin travel system.  She mentions features like the fully reclining seats, removable guardrails and infant boots. Though the stroller comes with a carrying strap, she feels the stroller is too unwieldy and awkwardly shaped to lug over the shoulder.
