One of the priciest tandem strollers available, the Peg-Perego Duette gets a mixed response from parents and professional reviewers. Everyone agrees that, at 44 pounds, it's a heavy, bulky stroller. But many parents say that's a fair trade for its solid and durable design. The Duette has luxurious fabric, full-coverage vented sun canopies, and roomy seats that can be set up four different ways. In other ways, though, it's not a full-featured stroller: Storage is limited, and there are bumper bars instead of snack trays. Reviewers say the Duette is one of the few tandem strollers that work well for infant twins. It can accommodate two car seats, both seats recline nearly flat, and children can face forward, backward, toward each other or back-to-back. For a third of the price, the Graco Quattro Tour Duo (*Est. $240) is also car-seat compatible and features an infant-friendly full recline in the rear seat.
BabyGizmo.com offers a realistic assessment of the Peg-Perego Duette in a detailed video review. Baby-Gaga.com has unfortunately become outdated -- otherwise its coverage is thorough and authoritative. Two sources -- Canadian Family and TheCradle.com -- include the Duette in short round-ups of their favorite strollers. Perhaps because of the high price, this stroller isn't widely covered in user reviews, but Amazon.com does have a handful of posts from parents reporting their first-hand experiences.

BabyGizmo editor Hollie Schultz gives the Duette a thorough work-up in this six-minute video review. Because of the weight, bulk and high price tag, she doesn't recommend it for siblings of different ages, but she calls it "luxury through and through" for twins.

Parent tester Linh Nguyen says this stroller is bulky but sturdy "like a high-end mini-van." Canadian Family magazine's round-up does a better job than most of offering a balanced assessment of each stroller. What it lacks is any comparison between models.
Review: 2008's Best Tested Double Strollers, Robyn Naster, May 2008
Baby-Gaga has become quite dated: Reviews haven't been updated in three years. That's unfortunate, because it was one of the few sites to combine detailed write-ups with credible ratings. The Peg-Perego loses marks for convenience and maneuverability, but editors say it's comfortable, sturdy and highly configurable.
