June 2008. While the Oppo DV-981HD DVD player is one of the most expensive upconverting players on the market, reviewers say image quality is amazing. You'll need an HDTV with an HDMI input to take advantage of the 1080p video that this player produces, but at least the HDMI cable is included. Noteworthy features include SACD and DVD-Audio capability, multichannel analog outputs and DivX support. A processor issue makes this DVD player a poor match for DLP projectors, however.
