Head-to-head tests involving the 2008 Suzuki Forenza are difficult to find, but we did uncover useful comparative reviews from ConsumerGuide.com and Consumer Reports magazine, where editors utilize comprehensive road evaluations to rank most vehicles. Other informative and current single-vehicle reviews are available at Edmunds.com and Cars.com, but neither of these engages the Forenza in any formal comparison. A concise but very pointed "Ruthless Review" of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza from CarCritic.com focuses on issues such as long-term reliability and depreciation rather than performance.
The 2008 Suzuki Forenza is available in wagon or sedan body styles, and it can be upgraded with several options packages. Most reviews say the Forenza is an adequate performer, but it falls short of the class-leading Honda Civic (*est. $14,800 to $23,250) and most other compact rivals. The Forenza does come with a few more standard convenience features than the base-model Civic. Front and side air bags are standard, but side-curtain air bags aren't available, not even as an option. Although historical resale value is low, the long seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is a bonus. Several sources expect 2008 to be the final model year for the Forenza, which has been largely supplanted in this class by Suzuki's own SX4 hatchback and sedan (*est. $14,770 to $17,970).

Vorderman doesn't mince words when he labels the 2008 Suzuki Forenza a "substandard little turkey". Not surprisingly, Vorderman advises buyers to bypass the Forenza, though he doesn't directly compare it with other compact cars.
