NordicTrack AudioStrider 800

Pros
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to assemble and use
  • Quiet
Cons
  • Not suited for intense or frequent use
  • Mixed reviews for durability
  • Warranty could be longer

The NordicTrack AudioStrider 800 offers fewer features than the AudioStrider 990 (Discontinued), but reviewers think it's a decent value. It has an 18-inch stride and a generous 300-pound user capacity. Owners are especially positive about the music port and the iFit workouts (which let you download workouts). NordicTrack offers a reasonable warranty considering the price -- one year on parts and labor -- but experts say this really isn't an elliptical for intense or frequent use. We found reports of breakdowns and poor parts availability on user-review sites. The similar NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 is virtually the same, with the exception of a powered incline ramp instead of a manually adjusting ramp. For those who plan to use their elliptical trainers more regularly, experts say the Sole E35 (*Est. $1,300) is the best deal.

The most credible review of the NordicTrack AudioStrider 800 elliptical trainer comes from TreadmillDoctor.com. Site owners Clark and Jon Stevenson rate ellipticals on several factors including performance, features, value, warranty and brand reputation. Fitness-Equipment-Source.com has a good review as well, with a detailed write-up of the NordicTrack AudioStrider 800's strengths and weaknesses. Sears.com is an excellent source of elliptical reviews written by owners, and enough customers have posted reviews of the NordicTrack AudioStrider 800 to provide a good indicator of overall satisfaction.
