Editors say the wipes are alcohol-, dye- and perfume-free, and they remove all traces of makeup, dirt and oil without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Users at agree. Most say that the wipes do an excellent job of cleansing skin. One says, "They are large and one wipe -- folded to use each section -- will get all your makeup off, even mascara." Skin-care expert Paula Begoun is more critical of the wipes, however. She says the wipes use a formaldehyde-releasing preservative (2-bromo-2-nitropane-1, 3-diol) that isn't good for sensitive skin.
