St. Ives Fresh Skin Invigorating Apricot Scrub sloughs away dead skin cells, providing instantly smoother skin and a brighter complexion. Although users appreciate the noticeable results, many reviewers say the formula is a bit too harsh. Minimal use is recommended. The scrub is best for those with combination to oily skin.
An old favorite. Users at TotalBeauty.com and MakeupAlley.com give St. Ives Fresh Skin Invigorating Apricot Scrub high overall ratings because it provides instant results in the form of softer, smoother skin and a brighter complexion. Many say the formula is an old favorite that they keep coming back to. The formula contains corn kernel meal and walnut shells for exfoliation and apricot extract which is full of antioxidants. Paula Begoun, skin-care expert and author of "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me," says the antioxidants won't do much for your skin since they are essentially just washed down the drain.
Very abrasive. Users say St. Ives Apricot Scrub has a gritty texture that is a bit harsh on the skin. One user at MakeupAlley.com says, "I was surprised at how harsh and jagged the grains were." Begoun agrees. She says that walnut shells and cornmeal are much too abrasive and can actually tear the skin. Users recommend applying the formula gently and only using it a couple times per week. Reviewers have mixed opinions about the scent. One says, "It has a pleasant, natural scent, that's fresh." Others say the fragrance is overpowering.
