The Holmes HAWF3095-U includes more features than many window fans. Each of the two fans is reversible with a switch, so you can use it for air intake, exhaust or exchange depending on your needs. It also includes a digital thermostat, but while most users think this feature works well, some find it isn't especially useful. Its slim profile allows it to fit in many windows without removing the screen first -- a nice feature, since a window fan used without a screen must be covered when not in use to keep out mosquitoes and other pests. Most users say this fan is quiet, though a few find the hum of the motor annoying. The Holmes HAWF3095-U is backed by a five-year limited warranty. There is a problem with this fan -- even though the manufacturer says it's still in production, it's not available in stores. As an alternative, the Lasko 2155A Electrically Reversible Window Fan (*Est. $60) has twin fans; a switch can change it from intake to exhaust, but the fans can't be operated independently for air exchange.
