The Cuisinart SmartPower Duet consists of a base unit (which houses the motor), along with a blender carafe and a food-processor bowl. Reviewers say this hybrid blender/food processor works better as a blender. Owners like the innovative hybrid design, but that's where the compliments end. Owners downgrade this food processor for being noisy and prone to breakdowns. Many owners say the plastic parts are flimsy. Experts recommend going with separate appliances rather than a hybrid.

Although the SmartPower Duet has not been professionally tested at Consumer Reports, Good Housekeeping, Cook's Illustrated or others, more than 60 owners have reviewed it at Amazon.com. We read a number of additional reviews at Epinions. All of these serve to give a good idea of overall owner satisfaction.
