The KitchenAid Chef's Chopper KFC3100 mini chopper receives mixed results from professional reviews. One says the 3-cup KitchenAid Chef's Chopper Series does not puree very well and is quite noisy. However, another magazine review says it performs admirably at turning curry ingredients into a paste and chopping almonds. Some consumers complain that purees and sauces can fly out through the holes in the lid. The quiet Black & Decker Ergo (*Est. $20) costs less, has the same 3-cup work bowl and works better at pureeing. The Chef's Chopper Series is available in five colors, and KitchenAid backs it with a one-year warranty.

We found professional testing of mini choppers at both ConsumerReports.org and Cook's Illustrated, where editors test a wide range of models with the same jobs: chopping, pureeing and dicing. Consumer-written reviews at Cooking.com, Amazon.com and Epinions.com give more insight into the pros and cons of the KitchenAid Chef's Chopper Series.
