KitchenAid KFP710

*Est. $130

pros
  • Even though its capacity is smaller, the KFP710 food processor still has a full-size feed tube -- a nice plus. Owners say it's 7-cup capacity makes it a good size for couples, small families or those with limited counter space.
cons
  • Some owners wish that the KitchenAid KFP710 had a longer cord and more available accessories. The competing Cuisinart DLC-10S performs as well and costs less.

Food processor, November 18, 2009
I REALLY like this food processor. I went back and forth on this one and the Cuisinart, but this one got better reviews overall. It works GREAT! It is easy to clean, easy to store and I use it about 3-4 times a week. I can easily hide veges in my kids foods now because I can make them super tiny and hard to spot! And the black means you can't see stains from carrots! This is a great buy!
Doesn't clutter up the counter, great performance, good value, November 18, 2009

I bought this to make mousse from HMR diet shake mix, and it really does the job. The capacity is large enough to actually be useful for 1-2 servings (unlike the "mini" food processors that make 3 cups or so--forget those). At the same time, the base is small enough so that we can leave it on the kitchen counter: it doesn't take up a lot of space and get in the way. The machine is sturdy. It also crushes ice with more oomph than any blender.

Perfect Size, November 1, 2009
I bought this food processor to go in my 2nd home. The kitchen is small and I knew that the 12 cup food processor was just to big. This one is smaller in size but is still very powerful. It does a great job.
Died week one, lost power, October 19, 2009

I read all reviews, really researched and was excited to use! I spent all day Sunday making various things - bread crumbs, grated cheese, sauce, dip, etc. I noticed the machine was losing power but thought maybe it was just very quiet. In the middle of a recipe, the motor died. I felt it, it was not hot at all so I unplugged, waited, tried again but called it. I'm returning it, not sure why but once an item/brand betrays me, I feel better about using another brand. I hope no one else has the same problem - it is really going to be a pain to pack it up and take to the post office but I think I will shop around for a cuisinart as I hear they are indestructible.

Nice Basic Processor for the money, October 11, 2009

I recently purchased this item hoping to replace some of the gadgets we have in drawers and on countertops. It does a good job of replacing my blender, chopper and to some small extent my mandolin. The slicing and julienning feature is the only thing that I feel could use improvement. Although the 1 combo blade that comes with this machine does a good job, it would be nice to have more options. Other than that, I am happy with this item. I suppose if you want more options you would have to go with a much more expensive machine and I really don't need all of that.

3. Good Housekeeping

The KitchenAid KPF710 is said to be the editors' favorite compact food processor. They say it's powerful enough to slice salami, and they like its mini-bowl. The downside here is that Good Housekeeping editors aren't forthcoming with testing details, and they don't tell us how many other food processors were considered.
