The 24.9-cubic-foot Frigidaire GLFC2528FW is among the largest chest freezers available. Reviewers praise its organizational features, which include three sliding baskets and heavy-duty dividers. The Frigidaire also includes interior and power-on lights, a keyed lock and a temperature alarm. User reviews indicate that this freezer's main selling point is, unsurprisingly, its huge capacity. But while an oversized unit might be tempting, experts caution that a freezer kept less than two-thirds full will struggle to maintain a constant temperature and will operate much less efficiently. For most households, a smaller freezer like the 14.8-cubic-foot Kenmore 16542 (*Est. $400) will offer plenty of space and better efficiency.
Both ConsumerGuide.com and Bestcovery.com recommend this freezer, but neither publication appears to have actually tested it. There aren't many owner reviews for this freezer, but we did find about a dozen at Buzzillions.com.
