It's possible to spend the equivalent of a car payment on a computer-game auto-racing wheel, but reviews say the Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Rumble Force game controller is the best value for the money for most people using PCs or PlayStation2 (it's not Mac compatible). Experts say the "vibration feedback" -- physical simulation of the action on the screen -- is a bit more understated than most force-feedback features. Reviewers say the GT Rumble Force is not as durable as more expensive game controllers, and some note that the base for the floor pedals is not stable on carpet. Reviewers say that the more expensive Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel (*est. $80) has better build quality and more impressive force feedback.
PCMag.com has the best review for the casual user because it briefly rates five wheels, giving an Editors' Choice award to the Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Rumble Force. Gamer website IGN.com has a much more detailed review. We found surprisingly few owner reviews at Amazon.com.
