For those with tight space, a tight budget or only occasional steaming needs, the Conair Compact Garment Steamer is a small and inexpensive unit, weighing only 5 pounds. This 1,200-watt steamer heats up in about six minutes and emits 20 minutes of steam. However, while about half of owners say it works well for the price, the other half report problems with inconsistent steaming, water leaks and water spitting. Many say the Conair Compact Garment Steamer just isn't a good choice for delicate or sensitive fabrics that can be damaged by water spots. For these fabrics, and for a more reliable steamer in general, we found vastly better reviews for the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 (*Est. $150), which obviously costs far more.
The Conair Compact Garment Steamer features a cool-touch hose and nozzle, a door hook for hanging garments and the nozzle, and an automatic shut-off feature when the handle is replaced. The small size and light weight makes it easy to refill the tank, and an integrated carrying handle makes for easy transport. This steamer is sold under two different model numbers (GS4 and GS5RWR), which are identical other than in color. The Conair Compact Garment Steamer has a one-year limited warranty.
We found the most detailed review for the Conair Compact Garment Steamer on AssociatedContent.com, where an owner describes in detail her reasons for buying the Conair Compact Garment Steamer and subsequent satisfaction with the product's performance. Other helpful reviews come directly from consumers on sites such as Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target.com.

While this review doesn't directly compare the Conair Compact Garment Steamer to other models, it is the most thorough review we found. The owner does note that she wanted a steamer like those found in clothing shops; however, she didn't want something so bulky and seemingly complex to use. She opted for the smaller Conair Compact Garment Steamer and is pleased with the results.
