Like its larger sibling, the Ducane Affinity 4100 (*Est. $530), the Affinity 3100 is made by the Weber-Stephens Products Company. The Affinity 3100 is also available in a natural gas version (*Est. $540).
Although it's made from less expensive materials than Weber grills, reviewers say the Affinity 3100's internal components are well built and durable. It ranks in the middle of the pack in one expert test of several dozen similar grills, and gets a good, although not terribly enthusiastic, review from another expert. We couldn't find many user reviews of the Ducane Affinity 3100, but those we did find stated that the grill went together easily. "I can't remember ever assembling a grill this easily," one reviewer writes.
The Ducane Affinity 3100 has three stainless-steel burners with a total output of 36,000 BTU, and a total cooking area of 550 square inches, including the warming rack. Good Housekeeping recommends the Affinity 3100 as one of four gas grills for under $500. If you don't mind paying a couple hundred dollars more for a longer warranty and better-quality materials, the Weber Spirit E-310 (*Est. $500) is about the same size as the Affinity 3100, and receives great reviews for both durability and value.
Three of our top sources, ConsumerReports.org, About.com and GoodHousekeeping.com, all evaluate of the Ducane Affinity 3100. We found very few user reviews for a current version of the Ducane Affinity 3100; AceHardware.com was the best source.
