Weber Summit S-670

Pros
  • Big and powerful
  • Even heat distribution
  • Best-in-class warranty
  • Feature-rich
Cons
  • Very expensive
  • Limited work space

In tests, Weber's high-end grills like the Summit S-670 aren't shown to grill any better than the less expensive models in the Weber lineup. Rather, the benefits of the Summit S-670 are a larger cooking capacity for outdoor entertaining and extra features such as a dedicated searing function, light-up control knobs, an infrared rotisserie burner and a smoker box. Reviewers say the luxury Weber Summit grill provides very even heat, and owners are hard-pressed to come up with any negatives (though some say this grill doesn't excel at low-heat settings and has limited off-heat work space). Most of this grill's nonworking parts are covered by a 10- to 25-year warranty, with five years on the heating components. If you want something of better quality that is smaller and cheaper, reviewers like the Weber Genesis E-310 (*Est. $650) or Weber Genesis E-320 (*Est. $750), the latter of which includes a side burner.

We found the best review of the Weber Summit S-670 at ConsumerReports.org, where performance is evaluated alongside 42 other models in a wide variety of prices. Derrick Riches, About.com's grilling expert, offers detailed coverage of this grill, but doesn't compare its performance head-to-head with others. There are a few customer reviews of the Weber Summit S-670 on Amazon.com.
