Panasonic Wet/Dry Vacuum Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer ER-430-K

Pros
  • Highly portable
  • Sucks up cut hairs
  • Single AA battery
  • Nick-free performance
Cons
  • Leaves some stubble
  • Noisy

Bottom line

The Panasonic Wet/Dry Vacuum Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer ER-430-K literally vacuums the cut hairs away. Its prominent guards remove any risk of cutting the inside of your nose, but leave very short, neatly trimmed stubble after a few passes. The ER-430-K can get a little noisy, especially after the first time you remove the cutters for cleaning.

Performance

Leaves stubble. The Panasonic ER-430-K trims your nose and ear hair down to short stubble, not completely bare. The "vacuum" designation is literal -- although you don't really feel the suction while using it, the trimmer sucks the cut hairs into a storage chamber.

Overall, users agree that the ER-430-K works very well as long as you're willing to make a few passes with it. "Does a great job. No pulling at all," reports a user at Walmart.com. A few others long for their older Panasonic trimmers, which had a cutting angle of 90 degrees instead of the ER-430-K's 60 degrees. There are a few complaints about noise once the cutting unit is taken off, cleaned and reattached.

Ease of use

Small and functional. The Panasonic ER-430-K is built for wet/dry use and easy cleaning. The cutting unit screws off and can be rinsed clean, but it's not fully submersible.

Users like the included cloth carry bag and a mirrored cap, which helps you get a better perspective on what you're doing up there. The ER-430-K runs off a single AA battery (not included) and users report that as long as you choose a quality battery, it runs for a long time.
