The T3 Featherweight Journey offers nearly all the conveniences of a full-sized dryer in a compact body. It has dual voltage, the handle folds up, and it dries hair quickly. However, some owners say it could be smaller. If you'd be lost without your blow dryer, this may be a good investment, but if you value packing space over smooth tresses, you may be happier with a smaller option.
Performance
Small dryer, big results. Owners agree that the T3 Featherweight Journey dries hair as quickly as the larger T3 Featherweight 2. It also boasts dual voltage, a Velcro cord wrap and a fold-up handle. With two heat settings and two speeds, users say the Featherweight Journey truly is a great travel dryer. Editors at both Allure and Vogue say they rely on it when traveling abroad, and users say it takes up about the same amount of suitcase space as a pair of shoes. We found owner complaints about the models sold by Amazon because they aren't covered by T3's two-year warranty, but other than that there weren't any reports of the dryer malfunctioning.
Ease Of Use
Comparable to full-sized dryers. The T3 Featherweight Journey has a 9-foot cord and comes with a concentrator. However, it also comes at a price comparable to most full-sized dryers, and one editor is quick to point out it lacks the cool-shot button found on other T3 dryers (and many other professional dryers). A few owners also say that while the T3 Journey's handle folds, it's not as compact, lightweight or easy to pack as they'd expected.

Allure.com tests and features thousands of beauty products, including hair tools. The T3 Featherweight Journey has been included in a roundup of one editor's favorite products for traveling to European Fashion Week. Colleen Egan says, "When folded, it takes up less space than a pair of shoes, but it's surprisingly powerful for a compact hair-dryer." She does note it lacks a cool-shot button, but otherwise the review is positive.

Vogue.com names the seven "best hair dryers on the market," and gives each a title, while experts chime in about what makes these dryers great. The T3 Featherweight Journey is named the best carry-on dryer, and Ana Dragovic calls it, "a packing staple of Vogue's editors when they go overseas to the shows." She also says this dryer packs the same T3 technology of infrared heat for fast drying into a compact package.

3. Refinery29.com
Refinery29.com offers a list of the 10 best travel blow dryers, saying that each dryer manages to work as well as the full-sized versions while taking up less space in your suitcase. While Refinery29.com is a reputable source for beauty product recommendations, this roundup simply lists all 10 dryers and doesn't rank them or qualify them in any way. The T3 Journey is among the dryers listed.

4. Amazon.com
While many models at Amazon.com receive hundreds of reviews, the T3 Journey has been reviewed about 25 times. It averages just over 3.5 out of 5 stars, but this score is a bit misleading. Several of the negative reviews refer to the Amazon.com product not being an authentic T3 product covered by the two-year warranty. On the other hand, about half of reviewers give the T3 5 stars, saying it works as well as larger dryers. One owner says she's happy with the dryer, but that it's not as compact or lightweight as she'd hoped.

Julyne Derrick selects 11 dryers as the best on the market, but doesn't explain how they're selected or whether they were tested. She says the T3 Overnight, now sold as the T3 Journey, is the best high-powered travel dryer. It's the only travel dryer on the list.

6. Women's Health magazine
Editors of Women's Health magazine say they used a "panel of stylists" to judge hair dryers. Five picks are presented, but we're not sure how extensively each was tested. The T3 Overnight, now sold as the T3 Journey, was the best travel dryer according to the pros. Women's Health said the Journey dried hair in 30 to 40 percent less time than standard dryers.
