We have the older V2100 model..., October 4, 2009

We have an 8 year old V2100 model...and it's great. Nearly daily use, never replaced the battery (which I see is lead-acid, not NiCd) which still holds a charge fine, and still a strong vacuum. But, the last few months it doesn't reliably turn on. So, while I'll probably pull it apart to see if I can fix it, I'm also looking at their newer models. We had a Dirt Devil before the V2100, the DD was so useless I quickly gave it to a thrift store and picked the Dirt Tamer randomly...extremely pleased with it. I wouldn't consider another brand, and glad to see this quality hand-vac company is still making them. Engineering wins over marketing! American automobile companies will never understand this.

I LOVE THIS HAND VAC, November 19, 2008

I purchased this hand vac almost one year ago to replace a B & D that was worthless. This has the best of both worlds. Wet and Dry. I am getting ready to purchase a second one to replace another old B & D upstairs in my house and will probably try the newer model out of curosity. Highly recommend this to all. It has great suction and the light makes it easy to see in dark corners. I use this at least once a day. Happy Cleaning:-)

Great Product, July 27, 2008

I was searching for the DirtTamer I already have (lower model, I guess, because it does not say Deluxe or Ultima) and have used for at least 5 years now if not longer. It has been amazing, and I would never buy another brand--most especially Black & Decker, whose products are universally horrible. I never lost battery power, and I never had to replace the battery. The only reason I want to replace it now is that it has developed a glitch--when I turn it off to save the battery and then try to turn it back on relatively soon, it won't come on. If I wait a little while, it will be all right again and as strong as ever. It's a little annoying but is still a great cleaner. I cannot understand the negative reviews at all--unless the company has started downgrading its products recently.

Built to last, July 11, 2008

Owned the DirtTamer "Deluxe" now for about 4 or 5 years. Needed to replace the rechargeable battery once about a year ago, but that is fairly par for the course, considering that I use it nearly everyday in my office, and in the car. Suction power is pretty amazing for a cordless, and better than the Dust Buster I tried. Also, easy to clean, which is nice. While it won't match the suction power of a plug-in-the-wall type vacuum, I think this is as good as it get for a cordless.

Love the wet dry feature, March 15, 2008
Absolutely love this product, especially the wet/dry feature. It does a great job in the kitchen with all sorts of spills and works well on pet hair.

2. Good Housekeeping

This video report of Good Housekeeping's testing shows the editors' choices of three "standout" hand vacs, including the FilterStream DirtTamer Supreme, which they like for its wet/dry features and HEPA filtration. It's unclear how many other handheld vacuums were tested besides the three recommended choices, or what the criteria were.

Peterson, a professional housecleaner, reviews the DirtTamer, which has a HEPA filter and comes with three attachments. Pros include a 15 to 20 minute battery life, wet or dry pickup, and powerful suction. The only negative noted is that the unit is a bit on the heavy side.
