Professionals and users alike are impressed with the Grado SR60's value. Although bass and detail don't quite match that of the more expensive Grado SR80 (*Est. $95) and SR120 (*Est. $150), they give clear, lively sound, particularly in the midranges. They're also the most comfortable of the three Grado models. The Grado SR60 has an open-back design, so sound will leak out. Some users say they have to bend the headband for a good fit. Several reviewers also don't appreciate their retro style. Note that this model has been updated as the Grado SR60i (*Est. $80).
The best professional review for the Grado SR60 is found at subscription-based Which? magazine, a British consumer publication similar to ConsumerReports.org that rigorously tests products. PCMag.com and MacWorld also offer useful, though short, reviews. More than 100 users on Amazon give a good idea of the Grado SR60's long-term performance, but you'll find even more audiophile feedback at AudioReview.com.
