Best high chair overall
- Easy-to-clean removable tray
- Attachable toys
- Multiple height adjustments
- Straps can be difficult to clean
- Castors lock too easily
- Some parents find set-up difficult
The Fisher-Price Rainforest High Chair, which used to be known as the Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair, gets high marks from professional reviewers; it also has an excellent reputation in the user-review community for ease of use and sturdiness. A similar chair, the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Healthy Care High Chair, has been discontinued, although another model, the Precious Planet, is still available.
Parents are particularly enthusiastic about the removable tray, which many say makes clean-up easier. Some say the straps are difficult to clean, but that's a complaint common to most high chairs. The Fisher-Price Rainforest High Chair comes with seven height adjustments, lockable casters and a three-position recline. There's also a removable toy that some parents say is a nice way to entertain little ones during meal prep or clean-up. If you don't need all those features, Fisher-Price also makes the simple Space Saver High Chair (*Est. $55), which attaches to a regular dining room chair. High-end high chairs like the Boon Flair Pedestal Chair (*Est. $200) also do well with reviewers, but most parents say there's really no need to spend that much.
The most authoritative review of the Fisher-Price Rainforest High Chair comes from "Baby Bargains," a well-researched guide by baby-gear gurus Denise and Alan Fields. U.K.-based Which? magazine also includes the Fisher-Price Rainforest in its review of 17 high chairs, although most of the models discussed aren't available in the U.S. We also found good coverage on user-review sites. Online retailers Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Diapers.com and LilaGuide.com tend to be good sources of baby-gear reviews in general, and the Fisher-Price Rainforest High Chair is adequately reviewed on each. Of these, reviews on Amazon.com tend to provide the most detail. The Rainforest High Chair is also reviewed on Grandparents.com, although the descriptions and justification here aren't extensive. ExpoTV.com has some video reviews that might be worth watching if you'd like a close-up look at this high chair's features.

3. Walmart.com
Walmart.com outdoes Amazon.com in reviews for the Fisher-Price Rainforest High Chair. Entries do tend to be shorter, though, and some of the ratings have no text at all. Owner response is overwhelmingly positive with only 20 percent out of 270 awarding the Rainforest less than a perfect score.
