The Svan Signet Complete high chair is an ergonomically designed wooden feeding system that transforms from high chair to toddler seat to a full-size adult seat. It is designed for children ages 6 months and up since it does not recline. Parents love its modern design, but many say it can be hard to clean and there are some recent quality complaints.
Not for younger infants. The Svan Signet Complete is appropriate for use from age 6 months and up, and is BPA- and phthalate-free. It features a fully adjustable seat and footrest. Parents say the large footrest provides a sturdy platform for toddlers to climb in and out independently. It has a grab bar with a T-shaped divider between the legs and a five-point harness, and reviewers say it's sturdy and does not tip easily.
Not the easiest high chair to use. Reviewers and parents say the big drawback to the Svan Signet Complete is the many nooks and crannies that tend to trap food, although the finish wipes off easily in smooth places. The high chair tray has a plastic insert that comes off and is dishwasher-safe, but some parents say it is difficult to remove. It also takes two hands to remove the tray. Assembly is described as a multistep process that requires a screwdriver and Allen wrench. Size adjustments will also require the Allen wrench, so don't throw it away.
Family dining from 6 months and up. The Svan Signet Complete is designed to encourage family dining at the table from the very beginning, and the chair can be used with or without the tray. Parents describe the Svan as a relatively small seat that tucks into corners nicely and blends well with most furniture types and decors. Reviewers and parents praise the smooth bentwood construction and multiple finish options. However, we noticed a trend in recent reviews of complaints regarding durability of the finish, the hardware and a scratched-up tray after just a few months.
