- Inexpensive
- Good print quality
- Nice looking design
- Slow
- Flimsy output tray
- No memory-card slots or PictBridge
Every review we found of the Canon Pixma iP2600 includes at least one caveat (and often, several). But, when compared to other sub-$100 models, it emerges as the best choice in its price range. Reviewers point out that the Canon iP2600 inkjet printer is slow, and the control buttons aren't very intuitive. However, print quality on the whole is good, and it is as good as or better than other $50 inkjets. Several note that Canon now "chips" its ink cartridges, which makes it harder to use third-party inks instead of Canon's proprietary ink tanks.
We found reviews for the Canon Pixma iP2600 at CNET, which breaks down its comments into sections for design, performance and service. A large database of printer reviews gives CNET's rating system comparative value. TrustedReviews.com delivers a fairly thorough write-up, though the focus seems to rest primarily on the printer's design. PC Advisor and PC Pro magazines offer similarly detail-stingy summaries, but hit on major performance concerns. We found a handful of user ratings at Amazon.com.

This short review covers the basics; Justin Yu writes that the Canon Pixma iP2600 is fine for the price. Some of the colors were a bit dull, but speeds are good compared to other inkjet printers in this price range.
Review: Canon Pixma iP2600, Justin Yu, March 6, 2008
This critique covers features and performance. Color and speeds are said to be good on the no-frills Canon Pixma iP2600. Text and photo output are fine, considering the unit's price. Editors note that Canon is now "chipping" its cartridges to make it harder to use third-party inks.
Review: Canon Pixma iP2600, Simon Williams, May 9, 2008
Editors here say the Canon iP2600 is a good value, with solid output quality and a nice looking design. The only real criticism is that the output tray isn't very substantial, and speeds fell far short of Canon's claims.
